9/24/2019 Amd Cpu Overclocking
Overclocking is a technique in which a microprocessor’s clock speed (the speed at which it processes data) is increased beyond the factory-default setting. This process can be performed on any device controlled by a microprocessor, from a TV to a toaster, but it is most often applied to computer CPUs. The two major computer CPU makers, Intel and AMD, have frowned on overclocking until recently. Realizing that most “power users” overclock their computer CPUs from time to time, however, both companies have developed software that allows overclocking of their more advanced processors.

By| 19 Jul 2018. Overclocking is the process of making your processor (CPU or central processing unit) run faster. The performance is already there, but by default, the manufacturer (Intel and AMD) restricts the CPU's performance to a 'safe' level to ensure it's reliable for a longer time. Mar 6, 2019 - The argument for overclocking your AMD CPU, Intel processor, or Nvidia graphics card is stronger than ever right now: it's just too easy not to.
AMD calls this software bundle “Overdrive.”. Warning. Keep a constant eye on CPU temperature settings.
If the core temperature rises above 140 degrees F, turn off the machine immediately and set values lower when you restart. Be aware that the following warning is printed several times in the Overdrive manual: “Please note that the AMD Product Warranty does not cover damages caused by running components outside of specification including damages caused by overclocking (even when overclocking is enabled with the AMD Overdrive utility).” Be careful.
